Condition & Value Assessment
Condition Grade
Excellent (EX 5)
Estimated Market Value
$1.00 - $3.00 (Raw); $15.00 - $25.00 (PSA 9)
Recent Sales
Raw copies typically sell for under $5 on eBay. Graded PSA 9 copies have recently sold in the $20 range. PSA 10 gem mint copies can reach $50+ due to the difficulty of finding crack-free surfaces.
Condition Details
Visible vertical cracking (crazing) on the plastic 3-D surface which is extremely common for this issue. Centering appears slightly shifted to the right. Corners show light wear. Plastic surface appears to have some discoloration/yellowing typical of age.
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for grading unless you are attempting to complete a high-grade registry set. The visible surface cracking significantly lowers the technical grade, likely resulting in a PSA 4 or 5 despite sharp corners. Grading fees would exceed the value of the card.
Card Description
Bill Madlock is pictured in his Los Angeles Dodgers away uniform in a batting follow-through pose. The card features a lenticular 3-D design that creates an illusion of depth. The borders features a red, white, and blue star-spangled banner theme with 'Kellogg's Corn Flakes All Star' at the top.
Notable Features
3-D Lenticular surface; Kellogg's cereal box promotion; features 4-time batting champion Bill Madlock.
Authentication Notes
Authentic issue. The specific pattern of surface 'crazing' (cracks in the plastic) is a hallmark of the 1980s Kellogg's sets. The card stock and printing on the name banner are consistent with 1982 production.
